How can we keep our Fitness New Year's Resolution?
By Thomas Cain of iPwrShop
How can we keep our Fitness New Year's Resolution? By Thomas Cain Every January 1st , Americans all over this country try a new diet or Healthy/Fitness lifestyle program. One half of all women and one quarter of all men are currently on some type of diet. But most do fail. Why? They have a plan and they have the structure all written out, but life just happens and they fall – it is hard to pick it back up. Tragedy strikes all of us; how do we handle it and how can we avoid these things from happening in the future? This Brief is designed to those who struggle. It focuses on how to change our habits and how to avoid the typical obstacles that many people face when they try to change an inactive lifestyle of poor nutrition to a more active and healthy one. It is not so hard. If you follow the Basics of fitness that many Coaches use when they are assessing the behavioral needs of their Athletes, you can also succeed. 1. Understand how behavior begins to occur. Dieters and lifestyle changers must establish what happens before they begin to indulge in an unhealthy habit. Are you stressed, bored, or another is it something else that sets you off base? Knowing your weaknesses will help you get to the bottom of the cause of your behavior and avoid you from getting off base and avoid regression. 2.Once you have identified the source, you must also identify the specific behavior that you want to change. Overeating or over indulging can stop if you understands what causes you to get off base or off track, and avoid it. If you overeat when you go out to eat, don’t order the the bigger Platter; instead, order something that you can eat and save the rest to take home to finish as a second meal. It not only allows you to eat less but is cheaper because you don’t have to buy that meal later in the week. When the food comes to your table, divide the meal by half or into thirds. Basically down size your meal portions 3.What happens after you do something that takes you off base? How do you feel? Guilt or remorse is the common feeling. Being stuffed or miserable is another. These feelings or emotions can be stored in your memory bank for the future and help you make successful lifestyle changes. When you learn to understand what it is that gets you off base, then you can focus in on what it is that issue is and plan what you will do in the future. Our lives are a constant journey, none of us is perfect; it is just what we do with the issues that get us off base/sidetracked that change us. Once you discover these issues, you can avoid those issues that set you back in the future. What we learn about ourselves is something we can't learn in any book. Our lives and what we learn about ourselves is the best book and learning experience...because it is about you. It's personal and only you can benefit from it! Happy New Year 2009! |
